DENTAL BRIDGES IN SYOSSET, NY

Dental Bridges in Syosset: NY: Restore Your Smile with Confidence

A dental bridge fills the gap left by one or more missing teeth with a fixed replacement tooth anchored to the teeth or implants on either side, so you can chew and speak normally again without a removable appliance. At Creative Dental of Syosset, Dr. Timur Mozner, DDS designs each bridge from a Dexis digital scan, in zirconia or porcelain matched to your natural teeth.

This is a boutique one-doctor practice, so the same dentist examines you, plans the bridge, and fits it, and you hear what it costs before any work begins.

What Is a Dental Bridge?

A dental bridge is a fixed dental restoration used to replace one or more missing teeth. It literally “bridges” the gap by anchoring to the natural teeth or implants on either side of the space, supporting one or more artificial teeth (called pontics) in between.

When Is a Dental Bridge Recommended?

You may benefit from a bridge if you:

  • Have one or more missing teeth
  • Want a non-removable alternative to partial dentures
  • Can’t or prefer not to get dental implants
  • Want to prevent teeth from shifting into empty space
  • Need to restore chewing and speaking function

Types of Dental Bridges We Offer

Traditional Fixed Bridges

Anchored to two natural teeth on either side of the gap with crowns.

Implant-Supported Bridges

Ideal for patients missing multiple teeth; uses dental implants instead of natural teeth for support.

Cantilever Bridges

Used when only one adjacent tooth is available for support.

Maryland (Resin-Bonded) Bridges

Minimally invasive, often used for front teeth. Bonded with a metal or porcelain framework.

Dr. Mozner will help you choose the best type of bridge based on your smile, bite, and long-term goals.

Benefits of Dental Bridges

  • Restore your smile and facial balance
  • Improve chewing and speech
  • Prevent remaining teeth from shifting
  • Help maintain jaw and bite alignment
  • Long-lasting solution, often 10-15+ years
  • More affordable than full dental implants

The Dental Bridge Process

  • Consultation and digital scan: Dr. Mozner reviews your history, examines the gap and the teeth around it, and captures a Dexis digital scan, so there are no rubber molds.
  • Tooth preparation (for traditional bridges): the supporting teeth on either side of the gap are reshaped to hold the bridge, and a digital scan is taken for the lab.
  • Temporary bridge: a temporary protects your gums and bite while the dental lab fabricates your permanent bridge.
  • Final bridge placement: the finished bridge is fitted, adjusted, and bonded in place for everyday function and comfort.

Because the bridge is lab-made rather than milled in the chair, it takes more than one visit.

A clear plan and a price before treatment starts

Two worries bring most people to a new dentist for a bridge: being talked into work they did not need, and getting a bill they did not expect. Dr. Mozner examines the gap and the teeth around it, walks you through your X-rays so you can see the actual problem, and explains whether a bridge or a dental implant fits your case before anything is planned. The front desk checks your PPO benefits ahead of time and tells you your share of the cost up front, so the number you agree to is the number you pay. Creative Dental of Syosset accepts most PPO plans and offers CareCredit financing for larger cases.

Dr. Mozner provided an excellent experience. After having had a previous experience that was not ideal, I was reluctant to find a new dentist that I could trust. Dr. Mozner took the time to explain the details of what my treatment plan. Great job!

FAQs, Dental Bridges in Syosset, NY

How long does a dental bridge typically last?

With proper oral hygiene and regular professional checkups, a dental bridge can typically last 10-15 years or even longer. Maintaining the health of the anchor teeth is the most important factor in the longevity of your bridge.

Will my bridge look like my natural teeth?

Yes! Dr. Mozner custom-designs every bridge to match the exact shade, shape, and size of your surrounding natural teeth. We use high-quality materials to ensure the restoration is virtually indistinguishable from the rest of your smile.

Is the procedure to get a bridge painful?

Not at all. The preparation process is performed under local anesthesia to ensure you are completely numb and comfortable. Most patients report only minimal sensitivity or discomfort during the healing phase between appointments.

What is the difference between a dental bridge and an implant?

A dental bridge uses the healthy teeth (or implants) adjacent to a gap to support a replacement tooth. A dental implant is a titanium post surgically placed directly into the jawbone to act as an independent tooth root. During your consultation, we will determine which option best suits your oral health and budget.

Can a bridge help if I am missing multiple teeth in a row?

Absolutely. For multiple missing teeth, we often recommend an implant-supported bridge. This provides a secure, permanent solution without requiring the reshaping of your remaining natural teeth.

How do I care for my dental bridge?

You should brush and floss your bridge just like your natural teeth. However, because the bridge is connected, you will need to use a “floss threader” or an interdental cleaner to clean underneath the artificial tooth (pontic) to prevent plaque buildup.

Dental Bridges at Creative Dental of Syosset

Dr. Mozner uses the same digital scanning for bridges that he uses for crowns. The Dexis scanner captures the outline of your prepared teeth, so there are no rubber impression molds, which means a more comfortable visit and a more accurate fit for the final bridge.

All bridges are made by an external dental lab in zirconia or porcelain. When color matching matters most, such as a bridge across the front teeth, the lab technician comes to the office in person to work with Dr. Mozner on shade selection and the finer aesthetic details, so the bridge blends with the teeth around it.

Dr. Mozner has fitted bridges throughout his 20-plus years in practice and applies the restorative training from his NYU AEGD residency to every case, from a simple three-unit bridge to a longer-span restoration.

Dental Bridge vs. Dental Implant: Which Is Right for You?

Both bridges and implants replace missing teeth, but they work differently. A bridge uses the teeth on either side of the gap as anchors, which means those teeth are reshaped to hold it. An implant is a standalone titanium post placed in the jawbone that supports its own crown without touching the neighboring teeth, and it helps preserve the bone where the tooth was lost.

A bridge is usually faster and costs less up front. Dr. Mozner often recommends a bridge when the teeth beside the gap already need crowns, because one restoration can rebuild the gap and those teeth at the same time. He leans toward an implant when the neighboring teeth are healthy and untouched, to keep them that way.

Single-tooth implants at Creative Dental of Syosset typically run $1,600 to $2,000 for the surgical portion, depending on the implant system. Having placed roughly 3,000 implants, Dr. Mozner will tell you honestly which option fits your case and your budget. See our Dental Implants page for the full implant process and cost.
