As clinical supervising faculty at NYU Dental School he teaches implant dentistry to senior dental students, so the techniques used here follow current clinical evidence. Every case starts with a cone-beam CT scan taken in this office. The 3D image sets the exact angle, depth and position of the implant and shows whether bone grafting is needed before surgery begins.

In his words, "They don't hurt if done properly and quickly with as little tissue manipulation as possible." For patients that usually means less swelling and a faster recovery than they expected. When most or all teeth in an arch are missing or failing, four to six implants can support a fixed full-arch bridge, replacing a removable denture with teeth that stay in. Dr. Mozner assesses bone volume on the CT scan and tells you at the consultation whether you are a candidate and what the arch will cost.
Dentures or implants: which one for you
A removable denture is the lower-cost route and can be made here, but it rests on the gums, can slip when you eat or speak, and the jawbone under it shrinks over time. An implant-supported denture snaps onto two to four implants, so it stays put and preserves the bone, and a fixed All-on-4 or All-on-6 bridge does not come out at all.
