Creative Dental of Syosset

RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY IN SYOSSET, NY

A cracked tooth, deep decay, an old filling that failed, or a missing tooth rarely fixes itself, and the longer it waits the bigger the repair usually gets. At Creative Dental of Syosset, serving Syosset, Oyster Bay, Plainview, and the surrounding Long Island area, Dr. Timur Mozner, DDS, rebuilds damaged and missing teeth with crowns, bridges, root canals, and dental implants. This is a boutique one-doctor practice, so the same dentist examines you, plans the work, and does most of it himself, and you hear what each option costs before anything begins. Call (516) 921-3290 to schedule, or book online.

What is restorative dentistry?

Restorative dentistry is the repair and replacement side of dental care: fixing teeth that are cracked, worn, decayed, or infected, and replacing teeth that are already gone. It covers crowns, bridges, tooth-colored fillings, root canals, and dental implants. The earlier a problem is caught, the smaller and less expensive the fix usually is, which is why Dr. Mozner starts with an exam and your X-rays and shows you exactly what he sees before recommending anything.

A clear plan and a price before treatment starts

Two worries bring most people to a new dentist: being talked into work they did not need, and getting a bill they did not expect. Dr. Mozner reviews your medical and dental history, examines your teeth and gums, and walks you through the X-rays so you can see the actual problem before any treatment is planned. The front desk checks your PPO benefits ahead of time and explains your share of the cost up front, so the number you agree to is the number you pay. Creative Dental of Syosset accepts most PPO plans and offers CareCredit financing for larger cases.

Dr. Mozner took the time to explain the details of what my treatment plan. Great job!

What are the advantages of restorative dentistry?

Restoring a damaged or missing tooth does more than improve how it looks. It lets you chew on both sides again, protects the teeth around it from extra strain, and stops a small problem from turning into a lost tooth. After restorative care at Creative Dental of Syosset you can expect teeth that are:

  • Stronger and able to handle normal chewing again
  • Sealed against further decay
  • Matched to the color and shape of your natural teeth
  • Comfortable, with the original pain or sensitivity resolved

Treating infection and gum problems early also lowers the risk of receding gums and tooth loss down the road.

Which restorative dentistry options are best for me?

The right option depends on how much tooth is left, whether the nerve is healthy, and whether the tooth is still in place or already missing. After reviewing your history and examining your teeth and gums, Dr. Mozner explains the choices for your specific situation, what each one involves, and what each one costs, then lets you decide. A small chip may only need bonding, a heavily decayed tooth usually needs a crown, an infected tooth needs a root canal first, and a missing tooth is replaced with a bridge or a dental implant.

Dr Mozner has a very good way about him. He listens and explains your dental issues with you by sharing xrays so you can understand the problem.

Restorative dentistry services at Creative Dental of Syosset

Dr. Mozner provides the following restorative treatments. Most are done in house, and the few cases that need a specialist are referred and then restored back at our office.

Dental bonding

Dental bonding uses strong, tooth-colored dental materials to reshape and repair teeth with minor imperfections.

Crowns

A crown is a cap that covers a tooth that is cracked, heavily filled, or weakened after a root canal, restoring its strength and shape. Dr. Mozner uses zirconia, including high-translucency and Ivoclar zirconia, chosen for strength and a natural look. Crowns are made from a Dexis digital scan, so there are no putty molds, and the crown is built by a dental lab rather than milled chairside.

Bridges

Bridges replace one or more missing teeth using traditional crowns with an artificial tooth attachment or implant-supported crowns.

Dental implants

A dental implant is a titanium post placed in the jawbone to replace a missing tooth, then topped with a crown, bridge, or fixed denture. Dr. Mozner has placed roughly 3,000 implants and performs single-tooth and multi-tooth implant surgery in house. See our Dental Implants page for candidacy, cost, and the full process.

TMJ treatment

Creative Dental of Syosset offers TMJ treatment. Once diagnosed, treatments include simple placement of a custom night guard, preventing pressure on the joint, and referral to a specialist in more severe cases. They may also recommend jaw exercises and a soft diet, as small implementations can help to ease TMJ disorder.

Root canals

When the nerve inside a tooth is infected, a root canal removes the infection, cleans and seals the canal, and the tooth is then covered with a crown so you keep your natural tooth. Dr. Mozner treats most root canals in house using rotary instruments and refers very complex molar cases to an endodontist. See our Root Canals page for details.

Dr Tim and his staff really make you feel comfortable. I would recommend his practice to anyone. I had two implants done by Dr Tim and it was really and easy process.

FAQs, Restorative Dentistry in Syosset, NY

What exactly is restorative dentistry?

Restorative dentistry involves the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of oral health issues such as tooth damage, cavities, infections, and gum disease. Our goal is to restore the function and integrity of your smile.

What are the benefits of restorative dental treatments?

Restorative procedures make your teeth stronger, healthier, and longer-lasting. In addition to repairing damage and decay, these treatments can make your smile appear whiter, brighter, and more beautiful while eliminating pain and infection.

How do I know which restorative option is right for me?

Dr. Mozner determines the best course of action after reviewing your oral health history and performing a thorough exam. Your treatment plan is fully customized based on the condition of your teeth and your specific health goals.

What is the difference between dental bonding and crowns?

Dental bonding uses tooth-colored materials to repair minor imperfections and reshape teeth. Crowns are “caps” that fit over the entire tooth to restore its strength, size, and shape, especially when the tooth has significant decay or damage.

Do you offer solutions for missing teeth?

Yes. We offer bridges and dental implants to replace missing permanent teeth. Dental implants use metal “roots” to anchor crowns or dentures, while bridges use existing teeth or implants to support artificial tooth replacements.

Can you treat TMJ disorders?

Absolutely. We provide TMJ treatments ranging from custom night guards that prevent joint pressure to jaw exercises and soft diet recommendations. In severe cases, we refer you to a specialist.

What happens during a root canal?

If a tooth is infected, Dr. Mozner removes the damaged internal tissue, fills the space with sturdy dental materials, and covers the tooth with a protective crown to prevent further damage and save the natural tooth.
