How long do porcelain veneers last?
Porcelain veneers typically last 10-15 years with proper care. Some patients get 20+ years. Factors that shorten lifespan include grinding (bruxism), biting hard objects, and gum recession. Dr. Mozner recommends a night guard for patients who grind their teeth.
How much do veneers cost?
Porcelain veneers at Creative Dental cost between $1,500 and $2,000 per veneer. Emax veneers are at the lower end; Da Vinci porcelain veneers are at the higher end due to handcrafted fabrication. Most smile makeovers involve 6-10 veneers ($9,000-$20,000 range). PPO insurance accepted. CareCredit financing available.
What is the difference between Emax and Da Vinci veneers?
“There’s two different brands. Emax and Da Vinci porcelain veneers,” Dr. Mozner explains. Emax is made from lithium disilicate ceramic – strong and translucent. Da Vinci veneers are handcrafted by Da Vinci Dental Studios, custom-layered by master ceramists for the highest aesthetic detail. Dr. Mozner recommends the best material based on goals, budget, and tooth location.
Are porcelain veneers better than composite veneers?
Dr. Mozner works exclusively with porcelain veneers. He does not offer composite veneers. Porcelain is stronger, more stain-resistant, and reflects light more naturally. Composite lasts 5-7 years vs 10-15+ for porcelain. For patients investing in a lasting result, porcelain is the better long-term value.
Does getting veneers hurt?
The preparation involves removing a thin layer of enamel, done under local anesthesia. Most patients report minimal discomfort. Nitrous oxide sedation and noise-canceling headphones are available for anxious patients. Some mild sensitivity for a few days after temporary veneers are placed is normal.
How many veneers do I need?
Most full smile transformations involve 6-10 veneers on the upper front teeth. Some patients only need 2-4 for specific teeth. Dr. Mozner designs each case for a natural, balanced result that fits the patient’s face shape and preferences.
Can veneers fix gaps and crooked teeth?
Veneers can correct small gaps, mildly crooked teeth, and slightly rotated teeth. “I want to improve my smile. I don’t like my small peg shaped teeth and dark color,” is the typical request Dr. Mozner hears. For more significant misalignment, Invisalign may be recommended first.
